Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My daily tasks vary based on what my team need of me, but it generally consists of preparing documents for testing and communicating with the client with regards to what we need from them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It is satisfying to complete a task or do something that benefits the whole team, especially when a senior person shows their appreciation to you for what you have done.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a lot about using excel and other Microsoft tools, as well as a lot of new information and knowledge through college courses I have attended.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is fairly well structured, our college dates are very well organised, so that they aren't all clustered together or spaced out to much, and it is clear when we are meant to be working on a client or completing online training.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from KPMG, especially when it comes to exams, as they are able to make sure that you do not fall behind your cohort, even when issues arise during your exams.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Again, a lot of support is given to students who need it, and the company is very consistent with reminder emails of exam dates and the policies around the exams and the college courses.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Of course, the more knowledge you have about the job that you do, the better you will perform at work, but it also gives you the ability to understand the complex terminology that is used in KPMG, even after just 4 or 5 months of working at the firm.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are a lot of socials that take place during the year, and there are also a lot of teams channels available to people who share the same interests (for example, I have joined the golf teams channel and have met new people through that as well.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a top 4 firm for a reason, not just because of its reputation and its size, but also because when you work here, you get a real sense of togetherness around the whole firm, and work is very satisfying a lot of the time.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
Make sure you are willing to put the work in from day 1, because although the first few years will be tough, and busy season can be draining, the benefits of working for KPMG are huge, and you will see the benefits in the long term.
