Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work as an engineer alongside a team, taking on board key projects and developing them for downstream teams. There is a lot of innovation, meetings and design.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
A lot - whilst university work can be tough, being in work is a great experience and feels like I'm actually making a contribution to the company.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Prototyping, sketching, ideation, rig building, testing etc. as skills within work, but there is also opportunities to develop qualifications.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
It can be a little unorganised, however it is only new. It means there is more opportunity to develop it and shape the experience into something that suits you.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
As much as we need. We have lots of well-being support, and there is a great understanding of how hard university can be alongside working.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Not a huge amount. Warwick is quite far away and so they only come down for lectures. They don't have a lot of experience with us and so it an be challenging for them to understand the pressures of both university and work at the same time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
My role contains less technical experience than other engineers, and so university does not play into it very well.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Loads. Lots of people start their own clubs and societies, and there is ones for just apprentices, the whole company, or with other companies too.
