Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Since the internship was online, we did not get to partake in any of the legitimate work. Our time during the internship consisted of Zoom calls to get to know senior managers and our teams. We also had group projects for charity and presentations. At the end of the internship we did solo presentations.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

No, since the internship was online and we were limited to the data we were allowed to see, we were given very little responsibility. Our main bit of responsibility was running a charity event.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed my team work skills through always working with others. My note taking skills have also improved, I would often be taking large amounts of notes during small time periods. I learnt to manage my time a lot better and ensure my calendar was always up to date. My communication skills also improved as I was always talking to others and checking in with my manager.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received lots of guidance. My manager was always on-hand ot help me and answer any questions I had. We had daily check-ins and he would make sure I was comfortable and made me know I could ask any questions I had. I was also given a buddy who also gave me an extra person to talk to and any small pieces of advice. I also felt like HR were always there to help me.
