Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Within a shift I carry out different maintenance tasks helping to keep the aircraft serviceable. From daily checks to engine changes. I work with experienced engineers who support my development in getting hands on experience. Jobs can be as simple as a wheel change to resolving wiring checks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I really enjoy the shift I work and the people who I work with. The jobs i get given are not always enjoyable but for the most part I do have fun whilst learning and carrying out the tasks.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed my problem solving skills, my confidence for decision making has significantly improved and I transfer these skills to my day to day life. My hands on engineering skills have also come along away, I am able to independently remove, install and fix components.

Structure and Support

3/5
Now I am in the workplace I am on a normal shift pattern working in a real environment, I find this is the best way to get experience. Whilst away learning however the structure was ruined by lockdowns, but they maintained are course to help us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
We are left to get on with work for the most part, however I know who I can talk to should I need support and there is regular checkups.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Whilst working away with resource group there was a lot of support, as I have progressed the support has dropped off due to not being in there part of the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have learnt the theory and basic hand skills to allow me to have a basic understanding of the skills I need to carry out the jobs in the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
There is not much offered outside of work, they do offer volunteer work at rugby games however.
