Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves working within the assembly quality management department to support the different functions including: tooling, problem solving, quality management systems and computer aided quality systems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Overall the program has been a rewarding experience that has challenged me to develop new skills, and allowed me to meet a wide network of people within the business. The placements throughout different departments have given me a range of experiences in differing functions.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
During my apprenticeship I have developed the following skills: problem solving, reporting, data analysis, systems management, communication.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The structure of the course is based upon the department you are working in and at times can vary. Overall it is the biggest area of improvement for the course, as at multiple points during the apprenticeship there has been a lack of clearly defined structure.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Currently the level of support from my employer is at a good level, and has increased since the start of the apprenticeship. There is opportunity for communication with HR and your manager, and regular 1:1s with your manager.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
The level of support of from the training provider is moderate. At times the provider has not fully acknowledged the balance between workplace and training, and treated us as full time students. The level of work is high and the support is not equal. Additionally the quality of the course has been lacking in terms of teaching staff and content.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The course primarily covers general mechanical engineering content, some of which has relevance to my workplace role. The main parts of this general mathematics, communication, and problem solving.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are a range of extra-curricular activities and sports available.
