Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I learn all the zones in my department and see how the factory works as a whole. i get to go between placements and choose other places in the factory to see and have a palcement in. i also get to do apprentice tasks like making small things and doing projects for people
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I have enjoyed my programme while at work, i like going to all the different zones and learning how the factory work. i enjoy the staff and things we do at work but i think that i could enjoy college more because i think that it would be better if we had more structure

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt how to work with leather and learnt about how it is different to fabric. i have learnt how to use a lot of the different machines in the factory and also how to fix and maintain some of them. i have become better at my computer skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
At work our programme is very well organised and structured as the trainers in leathershop organise our placements so that we can expiriance everything we need to in the factory. the structure at college is not very good and a lot of the time it seems like the teachers have no idea what theyre doing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We recieve a lot of support from our employer when it comes to our college work and placements in work. they give us time to do our work if we need and will offer as much support as possible even with personal matters. this is nice because it makes us feel like the trainers care and want us here
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
We do not recieve barely any support from our training provider. they are very lax with handing out work to do and would rather give us a very small deadline when we could have had longer to do it. i find that it seems like the college dont know whats next in the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
our qualification at college is nothign to do with our role at work. I find that i dont learn any skills at college that help me at work i often find that the amount of work given to us from college does the opposite and usually make work more difficult
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
there are a lot of extra curricular activites at work that we can get involved with. a lot of them are department based but there are many different things we can sign up to and they are going to start showing us more different things that we can do and sign up to

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
No
Why?
A lot of my friends don't have the commitment that it would take to commit to the apprenticeship. i think that i would recoomend it to certain people but it takes a lot of hard work and is early starts ect so i dont think that certain people i know would be up to it
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Check the description and location of the apprenticeship you are applying for. also note that it does take a long time from the start of you applying to the time you get the job. also there is a lot of work that you are going to have to do so be prepared and dont take it on lightly.
