Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Aircraft maintenance apprentice student which right now I am in my first year of training to get the academic requirements to be an aircraft engineer.
The role is mainly maintaining aircrafts and taking on responsibilities to ensure safety and seriousness is met in the workplace
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme very much as it has been my goal to get here for long, and the experience I get from this apprenticeship is a lot and I am glad to be here, my favourite part is being around aircrafts in heathrow and working well with my colleagues

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Communication, maturity, leadership, confidence, problem solving

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Pretty good, considering we have holidays and a timetable as well as breifings of what we will be doing each year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
They support us a lot and come in once in a while to visit and check up on us, they are also free to talk most of the time as well as having weekly drop-in sessions to talk about anything we may worry about.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
we get a good amount of support academically but it can depend on the instructor delivering the teaching such as if they want to simplify things we may need to remember rather than attempting to memorise entire pages.
But we get good amounts of training support when doing practical work
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel like qualifications will help me feel far more confident and ready, especially the practical tasks. but for the modules I feel half, as you memorise many things for the exam and then after that you forget most of it afterwards, and the pass mark is slightly too high.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
That I know of, I do not think so, but my colleagues and I live near one another in our accommodation and there are sports activities available in our area which we get involved in once in a while.
