How well organised/structured is your programme?

First year of them running degree internally. Some staff are organised and provide above and beyond support whilst others are still trying to find their feet. Communication can be a common issues between workplace and degree
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Workplace teams are use to undergrads and provide excellent support for those joining team even if they have no previous knowledge in the area
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Student support is a bit of a mess with some students having mental breakdowns and being told to meditate and eat less sugary breakfasts when they are crying over stress. Continuous change in plan of direction as well as an almost constant change in staff
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have already started to see areas where content covered in lectures has come up in the workplace especially in electronics and programming rotations
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Bi-weekly busses to larger towns/cities, Robotics club, LGBTQIA+ events, On site accommodation provides a traditional university social life

I would recommend to anyone wanting to start in commercial engineering due to the range of projects you get to see and work on. The course also allows you to try out different types of engineering before choosing a stream to continue your studies and specialise in
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology?
Make sure you are able to keep up with high workloads as you will be working a full time job along with your studies and don't be surprised if you spend most weekends studying.
