Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
On day to day basis I spend my time working with the fitters making sure that we are gaining experience in the toolroom. This is learning how you can fix and maintain dies which are used in the production of the outer shell of the car. These are important to ensure that this is accurately done. Its a challenge at times but enjoyable throughout.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the program. I enjoy the chance of being able to learn new skills and have a job which you feel safe in as they want to make sure that you do well in the workplace. This makes it easier and nicer to make sure that you can push yourself more and work better. But also be able to learn quicker and more work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
During college in the first year we learnt about the more theory based things which set a ground level for it. However now that we are at work 4 days a week, we are learning skills like grinding and different methods which can be used. For example in the last few months I've now got a qualification for fork lift driving.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Its well structured, because of the fact you have a apprentice manager which looks over you, this makes sure that you have a support which you can talk too when you feel that you need support or help. And having this means that the structure of the program is well done correctly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support you receive from your employer, because of the fact you have a apprentice manager which looks over you, this makes sure that you have a support which you can talk too when you feel that you need support or help. And having this means that the structure of the program is well done correctly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We receive our qualifications from college, they provide this well, whenever we have any issues of problems which we believe could be improved or changed we talk to our apprentice leader who would then feed back these to the college. For them to try and improve and change in the future if possible.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that certain parts of the qualification are more useful than others. However these are still important which should be used to ensure that you have a good understanding when it is in work. Making sure to pay attention to the qualifications have helped me when now in the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes there are chances to volunteer for charity and do events with different charities which can vary. There are also challenges like the mountain challenge which you cna do in teams which are a good event and are important to make sure that this is done. However because of covid this hasn't been on for a couple of years.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a company which is well supported well know as well as make sure that these are well known. It is all about making sure that they are there to support you and make sure that they are there for you. They want you to do well. But I also enjoy doing it. I really like it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
The interview process is done in stages with an interview stage, delvopment day. As well as well as an original set of questions which are needed to be down which is like a test center just so they can assess you and have an understanding of the person you are and what your personality traits are before they then see you after.
There is normally 3 tests which you have to do for it. But this can vary.
