Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Throughout the 4 years of the apprenticeship the amount of skills which I have learnt have been incredibly vast. I began very new to engineering and therefore didn't know any procedures or processes at all but now have an in-depth understanding into all general engineering procedures along with the practical skills to be able to perform these as well as utilize a big range of tools and equipment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The program over the 4 years has been structured very well, from being enrolled to a training provide for the first part of the apprenticeship was smooth with full time education carrying out as planned all the way through to having structured placements inside the working environment allowing for us to learn multiple departments all happening on time with plenty of notice.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a great deal of support from my employer, My apprentice manager always ensures to regularly check in as well as make known that they're always available and contactable if need be which is incredibly nice. as well as when working on the shop floor there is always support from other employers when needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Much like the previous answer i also feel that there is a great amount of support provided by the training provider as during theory/practical lessons they are always approachable and willing to help if need be. they also ensure that they are free to answer questions outside of working hours too. they have a good attitude towards wanting to help and ensure you're okay to achieve your qualifications
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
i strongly agree with the above statement, i have been working towards a general engineering qualification therefore this covers many different aspects of engineering which i have seen help me preform better in my job role as it allows for me to have a greater understanding for how elements interact and allows for me to utilize or identify much more / be more competent

5/5
there are many extra curricular activities that BMW Group offer from professionally networking events such as career fairs, plant tours and school events but also alot of really fun and exciting team building activities like the mountain challenge where a team of apprentices take part in a geo-cache event as well as Skern lodge which was an activity week.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Tips and advice i would give for the application procedures for BMW Group would be to take a great amount of care when applying to ensure you CV and other documents present you in the best way possible and to always allow the process time as its not a quick or easy decision to be made so don't get disheartened quickly.
ensure that you don't miss any steps of the procedure such as the 3 Online assessment as a common mistake is to only complete which can limit your chances
