Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
In my first year i spent 6 months in audit, working on different clients and performing procedures. From March 2021 i worked in the data analytics department, loading tools for audit teams. In my 2nd year I worked in a new team, looking at the way clients process their journals.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy being specialised in a topic that few people know, as this helps me communicate with other people in the office and provide support when they need it. I really like all of the other apprentices that i work with and hope to spend more time with them

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt lots of different audit procedures. Learnt lots of accounting terminology and looked at how to explore the way businesses work

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
There has been a lack of communication in my program. People in first year were often unassigned and struggled to find work or know how to do the work that we were given. The second year has been more structured with a specific line manager and timetable
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I am given my off the job time to complete my assessments and college time. There are lots of extra learning that we can do however they have to be done in our own time. We all have counsellors who are there for support
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have a skills coach and they are there for support, they help me if i have any queries. The college teach me and then i must complete the assessment. There is not as much support once the lessons are over as far as completing the assessment
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
My degree does not directly relate to my role. The topics that we study are hard to relate to my company and my daily role. I think that the degree will help me in the future but doesnt currently
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am part of the people team and plan parties and charity events in my office. I also attend the womens network meetings, where a professional author or activist will talk about issues
