Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Auditing Company's accounts, national and international, and working with a team on a day to day basis on certain accounts as well as attending team meetings and reporting to different immediate seniors. Hosting calls with clients as well when conversing about particular issues/matters.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme quite a lot, it is a bit stressful at times, but there is support on hand and the ability to work and study at the same time is a blessing but quite difficult to work with at times

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed interpersonal skills, building a rapport with my team when going into the office as well as the client when visiting their office site and virtually over teams as well. I have gained new skills of analysing information on a daily basis and assessing the data.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I am sure it is well organised, I did miss an induction day in the office due to Covid-19 so never got one of those. Would have liked one to familiarise myself around the office and the people. but otherwise the support on the programme has been well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Quite a bit, my senior and managers do support me a lot with my workload and I do have a counsellor and coach on standby at most of the times. If it is needed, I know there is someone there always.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Quite a lot, videos on their website as well as being active on their emails as well. For the certificate level, it was this support that was so crucial. I am yet to see the support on the professional level exams just yet.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Massively, it helps me understand more about the regulations and standards that I should keep in my mind when auditing accounts or gives me a mindset so I can detect anomalies and at least question the client on the matter, even if it is just an anomaly and nothing else.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are extra-curricular activities, I just haven't attended these myself

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
People are great, support is great and it is working towards making a better working world. There are some days where the hours a long, but with a good team, I find it enjoyable and can offload the stress due to this reason.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Be yourself, EY invests in people and not your qualifications only. I have no prior accounting knowledge, yet I am doing this qualification. The people you get to meet in this job are amazing and have really helped me develop as a person.
