Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Auditing banking and capital market clients both in the UK and globally.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
There are times where I enjoy the programme more than others. It can be challenging performing my role for work and revising/studying for exams.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, I have developed soft skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership. I have also learnt how to use various technology applications specific to my job role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Not very in my personal experience. I have had to change counsellors numerous times, also the apprenticeship team and the resourcing team do not communicate with each other. This makes it hard as a learner to balance conflicting needs.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Some teams and employees offer more support than others. Overall I do believe the firm should provide more support to their employees especially apprentice's given that this will be their first full-time job in most cases.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I am very happy with my training provider. They are available during all hours and often respond quickly to any questions. The tutors are friendly and very knowledgeable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Some areas of my qualification are used in my day-today role more than others. Learning topics such as accounting, financial reporting, audit and assurance are all very helpful to role and help me understand the work in more detail.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are several networks such as the Musilm and Women's network. Most teams are quite sociable as well and often organise events for everyone to attend. My sub-service line also offer several events to get involved in

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
EY are one of the BIG 4 and are quite prestige firm. Working there has increased my confidence and other soft skills. I deal with global clients on a day to day basis which is quite interesting.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Research the company and understand the ethos of EY. Be confident and be your true self.
