Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As an auditor at EY, I work in a team within EY with external clients to test the balances on their financial statements. This involves analysis, obtaining evidence to agree to listings, inquiries and more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Overall, I have and do enjoy working at EY. As a young person in the corporate world it can be challenging at times with long hours and revising whilst working. However, the skills I've learnt and experiences I've had are invaluable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Working at EY, I have become more confident in talking to clients and working in teams. My organisational skills have gotten better as they are essential in planning my days and meetings. My accounting knowledge has increased through day to day and exams.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Being a large organisation, EY are generally well organised and are able to answer the majority of questions promptly. There are extensive training programmes available.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I'm fairly well supported with being assigned a 'Counsellor' who are there for any issues or queries you have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Some to limited support, whilst working on your teams if you inform them that you have exams you won't have to work past your normal hours. However, there are no extra days given for revision meaning you have to work into your evenings and weekends in order to pass.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification (ACA - ICAEW), works very well alongside my job. A lot of the exams are linked to my day to day job and enable you to have a deeper understanding of how things work and the technicalities behind them.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are plenty of events and social activities offered by EY.
