Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Audit work, working with clients, audit planning and testing
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It is enjoyable and I'm always learning new things. Everyone in the office is friendly and open, relaxed feeling.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Learned the basics of accountancy, building relationships with clients, legislation and ethical standards

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Well organized, blocks of college alongside blocks of client work, it isn't mixed up. Client work is structured so that you tend to work on clients for a long time to see the whole process.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We have buddies, counsellors, coaches and everyone is so friendly that you can talk to them about if you are struggling. There is lots of support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots, I worked with one tutor out of hours because I was struggling. He gave up his time in the evening to help me
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
What we learn is a necessity for our job, we have to learn about legislation and bookkeeping, so it all helps us to perform better
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are plenty of timely activities and events. I work closely with the student recruitment to help drive recruitment in schools as well. There are consistently emails with new opportunities

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The qualification is good, the pay is good, the office community is amazing and the opportunities are wide.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Don't panic over the interviews, do your research on the company and understand why you want to join the company. Be prepared for the reality of full time work, but also be aware of the benefits of it too
