Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Since audit is such a dynamic industry, this varies greatly depending on what quarter it is. Somedays it may be speaking to the client and querying any testing performed, other days will be more documentation-focused and reporting to a senior!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Really enjoy it - I am learning so organically everyday and progressing every moment! The team are fab and so supportive - you know you can ask basically anybody a question and they will try to answer you as well as they can!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My communication skills have developed greatly, especially when adapting my communication style depending on who I am talking to: the client, a senior team member, a fellow apprentice! I have also improved in terms of organisation and preparation, for meetings, for work projects and even just personally!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well organised with a routine in place for exams, client-work and personal training. The
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A large amount of support, to the extent that my team will ask me about my wellbeing before I even have to reach out to them!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Quite a bit of support - EY sponsor the tuition and exams and the tuition providers are generally amazing with the resources provided and quality of teaching.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The theory side is all studied at college and then within my daily client work, I can apply it directly to tasks in a more practical way. This is exactly what I wanted from an apprenticeship!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Many social networking events and teams, such as the EY Women's Network, the Unity Network, where you can meet a lot of people with a similar background or life to you!

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Just see above! The amount of development I have had at this firm within just 4 months is astounding and it seems to be never-ending! The progress you can make at this firm with their support is incredible!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Prepare well for the application process! For me, I would practice interview questions with my mum and that really helped get my conversational flow going and ideas spinning in my head - some interview questions are very generic and will always be asked, so definitely prepare those!
