Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a teaching assistant in a KS1 class, where I oversee the educational, physical and emotional development of the children, including phonics , mathematics, and creativity. I have my own group in phonics, teaching the children how to read write and spell, and help them develop and learn new sounds.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love my job. It brings me so much joy to see the children that I take care of learn new things and develop every single day. It’s so rewarding to see your hard work paying off, teaching them new things and seeing them apply it to their day to day tasks warms your heart to a whole new level.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to properly and efficiently teach phonics to children. I have developed my existing skills, including empathy and patience. Working within a school environment it’s essential to be empathetic with the children who process emotions differently (heightened) to adults, and to be patient, as they do take longer to learn new things or work on bad behaviour.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I love being able to have constant contact with my manager / tutor, and I am in a comfortable routine with work, and assignments that have a quick turnover so no unnecessary waiting around. Everything is all well communicated within the company, and everything flows really nicely.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received so much support from Inspire ATA. When things have gone wrong, there has been constant communication and check ins from my manager at Inspire, and they have always done their best to help me out where they can and support me in every way possible from their end.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have already received a lot of support from my training provider , they are always there to help with any assignments and provide extensions if absolutely necessary, and when taking a functional skills alongside, providing lots and lots of resources to help succeed at the upcoming exam so that I can successfully complete my apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It definitely helps, as you have to research things during assignments that you wouldn’t usually research, and you have to sit and really think about every little thing in depth and that allows me to have a full and well understanding of everything that contributes to my future career.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There aren’t any extra curricular activities at my place of work- I work within a school so any extra activities would be induction days where the staff all come together and have extra training on things , reflect on our skills and professional development , and I suppose spend some time together.

Why?
Because as an employer , you really couldn’t fault Inspire. I always feel well looked after, and I feel that I can talk to my manager freely about anything with no judgements at all. I have had nothing but positivity from Inspire, they are a great company to be employed by!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Inspire ATA Ltd.?
Try your absolute hardest, and you will be absolutely recognised for this. You will always be looked after by Inspire which is essential in employment. You want to feel looked after and understood so being employed by Inspire ATA will be nothing but a positive experience. I couldn’t recommend it enough.
