I have a stand up where I inform my manager of what I plan to do and then throughout the day attend various meetings that include shadowing, training, application proposals and diversity & inclusion.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy what I'm doing and working on however it can be quite difficult sometimes to learn things so quickly at the start since you're settling in it takes a while to understand how to do what you need to (specific programming languages or skills). It can be quite stressful sometimes and easy to put a lot of pressure on yourself to prove yourself.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am learning how to use Outsystems, I have been given training on Sharepoint and Excel, as well as administrative work through projects. I've found training so vital and helpful for my work and feeling comfortable settling into the Office. I feel like not all of it was technical training for my role but also social skills but also how to be professional and work well with others in the office.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel like a lot of what I'm working on in University hasn't been relevant to what I do at work yet. They're along the same lines however I'd find it very appealing if my University provided training outside of normal classes on what I work on in the Office (e.g. I'm working on C++ in Office, It would be really helpful to my work productivity if there to be classes specifically on this provided by my University). However, the general structure from my managers has been helpful and I feel like they encourage me me into opportunities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have found I can rely on my employer. With frequent 1-1s and an understanding nature I feel like I receive a lot of support. If I have any issues or I'm struggling with something I feel confident to express that to them and know they will try their best to change that.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I believe my training provider is helpful and very interactive when teaching (frequent teams response and will respond to questions).
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like it's not very relevant yet and what I'm being trained in isn't very relevant to what I'm working on. There are a few overlaps but I wouldn't say it's been helping me in my role yet.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, we have been given the opportunity to run them too! There are many networking events of which I have also attended some, it's a great atmosphere and there are various groups so you will meet people in work with similar interests.

Why?
I have felt very secured, and have been given a lot of communication with my manager, it appears a sensible and professional atmosphere.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bentley?
To focus on how they portray themselves, it's not just about the grades but also about how you present yourself and the effort you put into your work. In addition, that although Office life may sound quite dull to some, there is actually a lot of creativity that I've found encouraged at Bentley Motors.
