I am responsible for advancing our knowledge of performance and performance drivers through the development of tools to combine & visualise the data.
I partner closely with our internal Sector Capability team to unlock additional data capability & connect with Perfect Journey and wider BU to build omni-channel plans to drive PEP share.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Whilst i was able to learn a lot from the programme it wasn't necessarily an 'enjoyable' experience, mostly due to the increased workload within my job. Found that i struggled to commit as much time as i wanted to the programme as i was having to prioritise my workload ahead.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The apprenticeship has advanced my knowledge of all things data (from basic data handling through to more complicated integration processes). I've been able to learn new skills using tools which I haven't previously used - these skills I'll be looking to implement in my current role driving greater efficiencies across the team.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I thought the programme was very well structured from start to finish. The order of the modules made a lot of sense ensuring we had the base knowledge before pushing onto the more complicated side of things. I found the exams to be a great learning experience (really putting our understanding to the test) and the projects to be a great use of time, a chance to execute some of the knowledge gained into practice.
I felt very well supported both internally (PepsiCo) and externally (Multiverse) throughout the programme.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I felt very well supported by my line manager, helping me prioritise so i was able to dedicate a good amount of time to the apprenticeship. There were some challenges with IT and software access, occasionally a struggle to get the relevant software downloaded to our devices (potentially an area for improvement).
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I always felt like i was able to reach out to Multiverse as and when i needed to. We also had monthly catchups in to ensure i was progressing towards my targets. Our Coaches also scheduled in additional weekly drop in sessions towards the end of the apprenticeship to ensure we could gain any clarity needed on Portfolio, Exam, etc..
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification will significantly help me in my role, allowing me to work with the larger, more complex datasets and build more efficient data management process. As our data coverage expands it becomes increasingly important that i have the skill set to work with more advanced analytics tools which can perform stronger analytics.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There's an abundance of 'extra-curricular' activities for me to get involved in with PepsiCo. Equally there's the opportunity to share some of the key learnings from the apprenticeship to upskill the broader UK team on how we can use more advanced analytics tools to extract more powerful insight.

Why?
PepsiCo are clearly focused on developing talent internally, building our capabilities for future success. I'm extremely grateful for having the opportunity to complete this apprenticeship and expand my knowledge of Data Science. I'm super excited to implement the knowledge and skills learnt in the apprenticeship to my role over the coming months.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PepsiCo?
Throughout the onboarding process I'd think about what knowledge/experience you have which you can implement whilst at PepsiCo (expanding the businesses repertoire of skills). I'd suggest becoming familiar with how the shopper landscape has changed over the years with certain trends heightened by the pandemic - for example digital has gained a significant amount of relevancy as shoppers turn to the Online channel, having knowledge in this space is a superb addition.
