Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Giving person centred care to a range of people, residential service users to dementia patients and general nursing. Providing personal care, dressing washing, feeding, filling in daily fluid charts, diet charts and general daily notes. Providing activities for them daily, making drinks, serving meals. Ensuring they are kept safe
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed the programme immensely. It gave me precious learning time and one on one tutoring so i could absorb all new information and learning being given to me and to expand my knowledge bqse and giving me lots of confidence to understand what i am doing is right and enjoyable
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills whilst doing my apprenticeship. Many of them are of the upmost importance. Medication administration, medication ordering and auditing, aseptic techniques whilst changing or applying a new dressing on a wound, encourage independence of service users with many aspects of their daily lives to actively encourage a good sense of well being

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The organisation skills of my tutor was amazing. She pushed me when i needed it and didnt have unrealistic expectations of my work or work load so much so i was ahead of the time for majority of the experience. Work was well structured and informative, comminication with tutor amazing
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieve an awful lot of support from my employer plus extra learning time with a mentor within thr work place which has aided me with learning extra knowledge and skills to apply to my theortical work and carry forward practically as well on a daily basis within my role
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Full support was given via phone calls texts and whatsapp messages when it was required. My tutor that was assigned to me was amazing and very very helpful and reassuring when i needed it. They are an excellent company in my eyes and very responsive to requiring extra help for tasks
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification gives me a better and wider understanding of health and social care and how best to support each individual service user either within their own home or nursing home setting as both are very different scenarios. I havd also learnt a lot about other aspects of thr place i work
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

No extra curricular activities on offer at my work we would all be too tired to join in after 12 hour shifts daily and with the emotional side of things too. In the future the home would benefit from some sort of team building type exercise or organised sports event

Why?
Very supportive throughout the process and dont expect you to be some sort of whizz kid at every subject, offering you full and completr support when required and on hand when you are stuck on spmething via phone call text or whatsapp message which i found extra helpful qt times
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?
Be open and honest about your goals and expectations for the future when applying for any of the courses on offer and you will be advantageous in being successful and being givrn full support and extra help if you need it from very knowledgeable tutorsat all times of the day
