Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

360 apprentice specialised in GMS Tax. Daily duties consist of maintaining client relations, providing tax advice and preparing tax returns.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I would argue that the way the programme is run, is it's downfall. Was so poorly run during my time, that it now ceases to exist. It's not terrible, however, not amazing.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

yes, over the last 3 years I have developed in plenty of areas, not just accounting related. I have picked up skills in relation to public speaking and general confidence.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

No structure. No organisation. Simple as.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Loads of support from my employer, and specifically team. Hardly any from the actual apprenticeship team. Luckily the employer is really supportive and makes up for it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Tolley have been really helpful recently. Especially with the amount of learning support i require. They're always willing to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

KPMG Bristol specifically has loads of activities pre-covid. Pub crawls, sports teams, quizzes. I've heard other offices aren't as social though.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
No
Why?
I just think that they do not practice what they preach. Try to position themselves as the caring one of the big four. Reality is, they care for as long as their bottom line isn't effected.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
Make sure you view all the options, and reviews like this. Just to make sure you know what you're install for. Especially when it's deciding between this and University. Make sure you know this is the career you want. A lot of people get 3 years in and realise it's not for them.
