Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Organising meetings and scheduling speakers. Updating excels and internal websites. Budget and Rev client analysis. Day to day emails and tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Thoroughly enjoy the fast paced nature and the people.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt and developed communication and organisation. Networking, excel skills, professional emails. Industry knowledge.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Masterclasses every term, hour long webinars and a dedicated study day on wednesdays.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
More support on the university side rather than CISI. Expected to do CISI studying on own which isn't the best as we are not given any additional resources other than revision express which lacks detail. Could have more resources focused on the CISI such as Fitch because it's a professional exam and the foundation year of university doesn't count towards the degree.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The CISI exams really help with my role as it helps me with industry knowledge so I have a better understanding of what is going on in calls.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Lots of clubs and societies to join however super challenging in my first year to attempt to join as very busy with work/uni/CISI

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Amazing culture and atmosphere super interesting and something for everyone. Loads of support from colleagues and the attitude to apprentices is fantastic.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
Don't be intimidated by the degree. It is definitely challenging but also very manageable. Don't live and breathe work/study you definitely need a weekend to see friends and family. Avoid working on study days to ensure you get you 20% study in and avoid working past 5 o'clock as much as you can. Aim to get all tasks done by the end of day. No one expects you to stay past 5.30/6 o'clock even if you think it will impress your managers! Lastly...Enjoy it! it's an amazing opportunity and actually very enjoyable!
