Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I deliver the level 3 teaching assistant and Level 5 learning and skills teacher courses, doing the teaching, marking and assessing of these courses to young people in schools and adult education settings. I give advice about the practical aspects of their jobs in the classroom or online as needed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am really interested in working with other people in the same job as me,and mentoring them. I love explaining new software and innovation to new employees. I really enjoy learning how to mentor, how to deal with conflict, how to manage behaviour and I love knowing I've helped people.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt Zoom ad TEAMS training platforms,I have learnt how to deliver webinars to teach the material,I have learnt safeguarding and the laws that underpin it,I have learnt about how to deal with conflict,I have learnt to do sales pitches to interested companies or prospective apprentices.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It's very good. We meet once a month, and we get pre reading work to do before the session,so that we can have a proper dis. The meetings are 3 hours and involve 2 or 3 topics in one session. We do breakout rooms and meet people from other parts of the organisation.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have a lot of support...I have a goto person for quality questions, and a goto person who helps with sales and account manager queries. I also have a direct line manager who I meet formally once a month but I can contact her whenever I like to,and she responds within a few hours.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Plenty. I am doing 3 different courses while doing my job,and I am allowed the time in my schedule to attend the meetings and also to do some work for them. We are encouraged to learn as much as we can while at the company as long as we fulfil our role.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I will eventually be moving into a training and mentoring role,so I am learning skills towards that eventual role. But they have already helped me to conflict manage and do better quality work with the role I am currently doing. I have learned how managers work and what their role is.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes...I run the book club, which has 9 members and there are regular afternoon teas and online socials we can attend. We have group conferences every 6 months and we are encouraged to meet and connect with others all the time. We do a lot of team meetings and new ideas are put forward...

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend LMP Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have felt supported all the Way. When I did something wrong in terms of my role,I was told what to do to correct it,and then it was up to me to do it. I was never made to feel bad,but rather see everything as a learning process.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LMP Group?
I would say LISTEN TO YOUR TUTOR AND ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS. They are very supportive but they will not hover over you and nag...you need to read through the material yourself and then ask for help if you don't understand. Don't keep quiet because then your tutor assumes you are not engaging.
