Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is within assembly quality management. Throughout the course of the apprenticeship I have been involved in different teams through placements including: torque tool validation and administration, quality systems administration and process changes, problem solving, quality reporting and data analysis, acting as a quality sensor, assembly of vehicles (2x stations during Assembly placement).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
+Wide variety of work and placements
+Lots of opportunity for development
+Interesting and engaging work
-Structure can vary and lack in some aspects

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed/learnt the following skills: Problem solving, tools of quality and problem solving, data analysis, reporting, communication (verbally and written), multiple specific proprietary systems, product safety, product liability and product conformity, information protection.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
From my experience the structure is left largely to the department manager. This can be a benefit or drawback depending on the leadership and priorities of the department. Personally I have felt the structure has been good, and has allowed me to have clear input into my placements. Areas that I think could benefit from improvement: clarity/communication between university and employer, structure for end of apprenticeships.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
The support from within the business has always been available, especially within my department. This comes in the form of 1:1 mentoring, and overall training/guidance from around the team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Support from the University has varied. The tripartite reviews (with the apprenticeship manager from the university, HR manager and line manager) are always beneficial to give feedback on the course. Other than this, it is mainly been up to the apprentices to seek out additional support if/when required.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Overall the content of the degree course is not focused towards the day-to-day role. However, the development of analytical and communication skills have provided a benefit to my role in work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are activities, mainly run internally through the departments.
