Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role is to assist within the completion of an audit. I work in National Markets, and tend to work on various different clients throughout the year. My days are filled with various audit tasks, and never tend to be the same each day. In addition to this I help with commitees and further develop my knowledge by completing training courses.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I do enjoy my programme. At times it can be extremely challenging especially when it comes to doing exams alongside working. I have also found that the culture can be quite demanding, although I am an apprentice and my grade is fairly low, I am expected to do a large bit of work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt/developed the below new skills;
Communication
Networking
Time management
Professional behaviour
Commtment to quality
Technical skills - such as using excel

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
In terms of work it is very well organised. However I do not receive regular contact from apprentice management. In addition to that, our professional accreditation team are very slow and last minute with communications. This can be very frustrating at times as it can conflict with work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I receive a fair amount of support from KPMG and they show appreciation for us regularly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
BPP are very good at communicating and they provide a great amount of support when it comes to exam times. In addition, I have regular catchups with my training provider to check in on how I'm doing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think the AAT qualifications do help, however I think the ICAS qualifications will be of more benefit.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes. There are lots of extra-curricular acctivities, even more so now due to everyone working and networking from home.
