Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day to day role is ususally on an engagement, whereby i am helping the team with various tasks. As ive gained more experience i have been responsible for more areas of our working file. Roughly every 6-8 weeks we will have a study module followed by an exam that is mandatory for the apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Overall since beginning the programme i have enjoyed the course sufficiently. As you are dealing with lots of new areas it is inevitiable to find things that you dont enjoy, however there are far more aspects of the job that i do enjoy. You will jump around alot in your first year, you just have to take all the new things in your stride.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Within just the 8 months of being with KPMG I have received 3 additional qualifications, with 3 more to come, which has increased my proffesional knowledge. There are plenty of oppurtunities to improve your basic skills aswell through the multiple skill building courses that are availible through KPMGs training hub.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The course is well structured, however i do feel in some sense the support with our studies has been lacking. This may however be due to the fact we have been in online college throughout the pandemic, things may change in face-to-face teaching. KPMGs interal team can sometime fall short in keep us updated with our studies also.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
This is an area that has been lacking from my point of view however i do know other apprentices who have had a really positive experience, so it a bit of a mixed bag really. if you need support you have to be willing to reach out a few times from my experience as things tend to fall of other peoples radars.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Throughout the pandemic i feel as though the training provider has done what they can to support us for our qualifications. Theres a helpline and the resources we are provided with are really helpful. The training days however can be quite rushed sometimes as they have limited time to teach you everything.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Everytime i complete one of my qualifications i feel like i understnad the logic behind my day to day role a little bit more. The more qulifications you do the less you tend just do the work and the more you start to undertand what your are doing, which is helpful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
As i have joined during the pandemic i have not been to anyting extra curricular, however i have heard that there are usually lots of socials with the team and plenty of other things to get involved with. There has been many collabrative sport teams during the pandemic eg strava
