Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day to day basis my responsibility is to support our client accounts and client advisors. This is either by dealing with queries coming from the client, or from the advisor. We also deal with the onboarding of new clients as well.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I do enjoy the programme as I feel the content we learn on the course will certainly be applied to my working life, whether it is immediately or something for the future. I enjoy the content, but the fast track programme is very fast paced

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
The programme has tested my skills in the sense of a new, harder challenge. However I do not think it has helped me learn new skills, it has just developed from what my previous apprenticeship taught me, just in more depth i.e time management

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The university have organised the programme well in the sense of trying to incorporate as much study as possible for us which is good. There are times I feel where they have not considered much about the work life i.e a lecture every Friday, as this was not mentioned to be me when starting and can be very impractical depending on the busyness of the day
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer for me is very helpful, whether that be my direct point of contact on my own team, or from the apprenticeship team direct, they are all very helpful and have no issues internally
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I am aware that we can reach out whenever we need the extra assistance when studying or closer to the exam period, with whatever content we may need to cover. The lectures on the Friday are supposed to help this as well. We also are able to receive feedback from essays
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
maybe not my role directly, but obtaining my qualification will allow the mobility to move around the organisation a lot easier, something which I am interested to try another business area. If I stay within WM, I know this will allow me to give advice eventually which is the next step
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
there are events that work has organised with a lot of different groups set up internally, as well as making social events aimed at the younger business staff (e.g grads and apprentices). There is sporting teams within UBS however this is something we have to make ourselves if we chose and we get no funding for.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have not had any issues since starting with the firm, and so far my team that I have been with for the majority of my time at UBS have always been very welcoming and accommodating. The apprenticeship internal team have also been the exact same and the firm does encourage a good business culture to work
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
it has slightly changed from when I first was interviewed, however in all honestly i knew very little about wealth management when applying, in which rather than trying to make something up I always questioned where I didn't know, and was stating the excitement I had to learn something new
