Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Dependent on my current placement I could be working within the production system or with other supporting departments like tooling , maintenance , quality or assembly. Allowing me to gain experience across the business and see how each part works as one.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the program as each day there is something new or different happening. I'm given lots of opportunities to get involved in these and further develop my skill set.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt several new skills both on site and at college. College allowed m to gain my level 3 BTEC in engineering and on site I was able to learn CNC programing whilst completing my NVQ.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The 1st year of the program is spent full time at James Watt college. Then in the second year I completed day release to college whilst then working 4 days on site and following my placement plan. Then in my final year I worked full time on site after completing my college training.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

On site I have both a training manager and mentor and any problems or issues I have I can speak to them and sort them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My placement plan is structured around my NVQ and my final role allowing me to gain the training I need and the experience.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualifications do help but found the experience on site help more. The experience I have has been tailored to the job roles I complete.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Great training opportunities with the extra benefit of getting payed whilst you learn. Furthermore I gain hands on experience around the business and tailored training for my final job role.

Have a interest in engineering and show all previous work or experience you have.
