Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Corporate tax assistant, helping with the preparation and submission of corporation tax returns and computation as well as providing corporation tax advice to our clients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy the programme and am happy that I chose to do it, however, I think it is quite long and motivation/momentum has been as issue as I near towards the end of my apprenticeship.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, communication skills have definitely improved as well as report writing. I am able to better manage my time and feel like I have become more independent.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Quite well organised at the beginning but as the years have gone by, I can see how there is less organisation for new apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A lot of support from my initial team but not much from the apprenticeship team as you progress, however, this isn't often needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Quite a lot - we are able to contact our tutors whenever we feel necessary during the run up to our exam.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Quite well - it is almost impossible to progress in professional services without a professional qualification. Some things I cover in my studies are applied in my day-to-day role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, quite a lot of social activities when in the office and both internal/external networking events.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
Research the company and what it does before starting. Research KPMG in the news to give some relevant, up-to-date facts about KPMG in the press. As the apprenticeship is rotational, have a look at the different departments and see where you would like to work.
