Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a digital apprentice on the 360 programme which means that I rotate to different departments within KPMG during my apprenticeship. I am currently in a Cloud DevOps engineer role.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme because I have enjoyed rotating into different departments and getting exposure to new areas of the business. My current team are so friendly and welcoming, and are invested in helping me get the most our of my apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt professional skills such as email writing and communicating with clients. I have also learnt and improved technical skills such as using new software in each team I join.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
My programme is well structured to an extent. The communication from the apprenticeship team isn't always very helpful, especially for the digital apprentices. I enjoy our study day which we get once a week during term time. From BPP I receive regular check in calls.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
In the last team I was in I didn't feel like I had much support from my PM or manager. However, in the team I am currently in, I am already receiving much more support for my own learning and development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
In my first year of the apprenticeship, the support level from BPP was very low. However, I have a new coach who ensures that we have regular check-ins to make sure I am coping well and not under too much pressure.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Many of the modules that we complete are not relevant to any role I have been in at KPMG. There are some which help my role such as maths and programming. In order to make it more relevant, I suggest including more technical modules.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
(Pre-pandemic) There are lots of social activites in every team, even going out for casual drinks after work or going out for team lunches. There are also professional events where you have the opportunity to network.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall, I have really enjoyed my time at KPMG. I have enjoyed meeting new people in each team, and learning different aspects of the business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
I would advise them to be prepared for the interview by doing background reseach into KPMG and having questions ready for the interviewer. Also to be prepared for the assessment centre by making sure you can work as part of a group
