Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In your first year you are typically tasked with a variety of different basic audit activities. These are primarily on the "soft" sections of the file with limited exposure to any technical areas. Your main job is to grasp an understanding as to what is going on on a day to day basis. It is a lot of completing basic spreadsheets and asking questions about anything and everything. Your responsibility on jobs increases quickly and after completing your first year there is a definite expectation that you are competent with the basic sections and demonstrating you can take charge of them yourself
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Social interaction is extremely underrated as you find yourself working with a vast variety of people, especially in a big company. As a first job, its great exposure and is a great entry point into the corporate world.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Teamwork and communication is vital in audit. Have a questioning mind and not being afraid to ask question is also a skill you need to learn quickly. Punctuality, discipline and hard work are other skills that are developed in your work as an auditor.

Very much so. There are many transferable areas in the ACA qualification that you can take into work that will allow you to perform better at your job.

Be talkative and appear happy to be there in interviews. Show initiative, be questioning. Do not take the interview stage lightly as it is highly competitive
