Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work with customer vehicles servicing, repairing and carry out warranty work when required. Also sales work such as new vehicle preparation and ensuring used vehicles are in a suitable condition before being resold.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Working in the automotive industry is something I have always wanted to do while growing up. Thanks to the Hendy group and Paragon skills that is now a reality. I love doing what I do as a job and look forward to continuing on.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have improved my communication skills through my job, How to speak properly to a particular customer etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I have had 2 mentors. My first mentor wasn't very clear on how to proceed throughout my apprenticeship. However he was replaced and my current mentor has provided me with all the necessary support and resources for me to complete my course happily and comfortably.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Whenever I need support I know I can turn to my employer for help, They have always helped me when I have needed it. Even moved my course from CEMAST college to Paragon skills to further my education.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
As mentioned previously my original mentor was a fairly poor one. However his replacement has given me all the help I could ever need and more so and I couldn't be more grateful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Anywhere I have felt there is a hole in my knowledge they have provided me with the resources to further myself in that area.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are none that I am currently aware of. However I like to keep to myself in my personal time so I like the way it is. But if any did come up I would consider being a part of them.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Paragon Skills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
My current mentor has bent over backwards to fix the previous mentors mistakes and I will be forever grateful for that. So essentially the mentors make Paragon what it is. At first I was definitely unsure how I felt but over time I have come to realise just how much support they provided me in my time of need.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?
A tool dealer such as 'Snap on' or 'Mac tools' etc providing tool sales to students would be a nice touch, Possibly even a discount? As I have learnt first hand getting into the automotive industry can be quite an expensive commitment.
