Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work between a number of clients, day to day working on a client I will be given a variety of tasks to complete as part of the audit always learning how to carry out new tests and procedures. A lot takes place on our eaudit platform and using microsoft tools.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed the programme from day one, sometimes it can be intense when an in charge leaves a task to you but in the end it helps to boost confidence and even a few months in I feel proficient in so many areas I would have been lost in before.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I already had qualifications in microsoft tools but there is always more to learn and experience to gain to get more confident with those programmes which I've definitely seen since I started. I've always had training in audit work and continue to learn new things on a daily basis.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
There are clear grades going up the company and each team has a structure that is easy to find and follow. It allows you to see where everyone sits in the company and what they are able to help with, what experience they will have and that helps when you need coaching.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is so much support on a study side, we have a great training provider and receive study leave and exam leave. A lot of colleagues and in charges have been in the same position and are very understanding and insist on us taking the time we need for study. In terms of work it is just as supportive of an environment.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We receive ample time to study and take our exam, colleagues and in charges have often been in the same position and everyone is very understanding and insists we take the time we need to prepare ourselves for examinations. There is no time taken away from study because of work they are sure of it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Unlike when you are at school and are sitting qualifications that feel pointless and unapplicable to life, the things we learn in tuition and sit our exams in are relevant to our work. You can use the knowledge and skills almost immediately in client work and is much more rewarding.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are so many social networks to be involved in, an abundance to choose from. Our office itself has so many social opportunities and events to get involved in and especially in lockdown it has meant being able to socialise with so many people at varying levels of grade in the firm.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is such a welcoming environment, my colleagues couldn't be more supportive in terms of my studies as well as my coaching through work. The company itself put us through such a thorough induction and is so helpful in terms of our qualifications and ensuring we have the support that we need.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
The interview process can be competitive and you only have a couple chances to stand out throughout that process. I would encourage anyone applying to take that opportunity to stand out as it only comes once and you want to make that impression. Be yourself and make sure they remember you.
