Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Answering and sending emails to the client regarding current work which is heavily involved around performing the bulk of the testing within an audit. This consists of obtaining the draft data from the client and selected samples of which specific tests will be performed, such as obtaining relevant invoices and contracts to ensure the figures posted are correct
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my work/programme that i am, being able to qualify for degree whilst also earning money is great, i am able to save for the big things in life whilst also gaining valuable experience that i can use whether i decide to go, post qualifying whether that be staying in audit or elsewhere

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've learnt how to interact with many different people in not just an informal way but also professionally and how to act in certain situations which can't be learnt in everyday life. Also manging work and time has significantly improved, with some days being super busy and full of work this has defo helped

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured, you are able concentrate on work whilst also having time to revise and study for any upcoming exams, the exams are well spread out and not around busy season which is a massive pro. Also there is plenty of resources and help that is on offer for you to succeed
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A great amount, there is a counsellor who is effective in charge of reporting your progress to a more senior level based on feedback that receive from engagements, when joining you are assigned a buddy who will show you the ropes and way around, then there is also a coach who will guide you through your studies
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Normally you are assigned a tutor who will teach you everything you need to know, they offer plenty of additional work and resources for you to use such as question banks, knowledge checks, mock tests and loads more, also the tutors are very open to questions if you are ever unsure
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It massive helps me with my role in work, i am able to gain a better understand as why we are required to perform certain procedures and the risks that certain areas pose. Also i am able to think a lot more methodically and not just sit the trying to work out things for myself
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Prior to covid there were regular social event that teams would attend as almost a celebration/relaxation from work, enabling people to chat and socialise on a more personal level, also there are sporting events that are open to be involved in such as a bit of football after work for fun

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is such a nice working environment, the offices are really nice, people are always very friendly and understand people are at different stages of the audit career and so understand when things may become a little challenging. The is so much support so things never get too tough whatever the occasion
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Its a bit cliché but be yourself, people will see straight through you if you try to put a false front on. If you are yourself it is a lot easier to engage with whoever you are talking to and so your passion for your interests, also do some research, people love it when somebody has made an effort
