Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Now I am a fourth year apprentice I have been working in the press shop on shifts, responsible for covering more than 6 productions line, in the events of any tooling issues that may occur, which could prevent the production team from producing panels worthy to be shipped to Oxford.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The apprenticeship has been very enjoyable, with great support from all around it was hard not to enjoy! There are so many opportunities that come with the job and many different avenues to be explored. The apprenticeship programme has just made me even more interested to see where my job will take me.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I am always developing my existing skills when working, and almost always leaning new skills to use in the work place. The skilled men, who I work with are always giving due guidance and advice when needed and they are always open for any questions in general about a job.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The apprenticeship program has been very well organised in all aspects, from the colleges behalf, from a Human Resources stand point and of course from the tooling management and the department as a whole. In my experience apprentices are always put to work with a meaningful task and kept busy
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a great amount of support from my employer, regarding anything from physical and mental health, to support with ongoing work and assignments from the college etc. And I always know there is a door open thanks to my training manager for any problems I may need assistance with.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
This is where I personally have actively used the most support, for example my training provider will always be available for me to ask a question and, or ask for advice about the task given to help completion of the qualification to be as smooth as possible and if they can’t help they will always know someone who can.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel like my qualifications have taught me many crucial aspects needed for my job day to day, and it also gave me the opportunity to learn from any of my mistakes made outside of the workplace so that I can adjust my way of working and processes to avoid these mistakes.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are always some great opportunities for challenges and social engagement, my personal favourite is the annual mountain challenge. My year has entered the mountain challenge 3 times and every time has been better than the last. Competing against other teams within BMW Group it’s a great way to network, have fun and exercise

Yes
Why?
I would recommend BMW Group to anyone not just a friend as they take great care of their employees and have so many benefits that come with the job. As an employee I feel very valued which is a very important aspect to being happy in the workplace
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
If I were giving advice to someone looking to join BMW group, I would say do research and due diligence on the company as a whole and also the role you’re interested in, so you fully understand what you’re getting into and if you get to an interview be yourself!
