I was given a lot of support and had daily chats with my manager and buddy. I also had a mentor who gave support from outside of the team.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
General atmosphere was very friendly. Everyone smiled at me and stopped to talk and ask me questions. I got on really well with the teams I worked with and enjoyed the culture of being able to talk to and spend time with anyone in the firm.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my placement and was sad when it came to an end. I went into the office everyday with a smile on my face and felt ready to learn and be challenged.

What advice would you give to others applying to Goldman Sachs Group
I would say that personality is a huge factor, they look to whether you fit in with the culture and whether other employees would like to work with you. Also being open to challenge and showing a passion for the role you are applying for. Grades are not the most important factor, neither is the subject you study.
