Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I am a probate case handler who views cases and finds out ways to distribute the the funds from the estate within legal requirements. Each day I will view a case and progress it using milestones. Sometimes I cannot progress cases as there are Documents I need to wait for.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I wouldn't really say I enjoy the program ( Who actually enjoys work ? ) . I guess that I like to be in a social environment and when I commute to the office, this allows me to do so.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have developed a lot of new skills. I have definitely improved my admin skills and working to deadlines. Mainly I've learnt how to adapt to new processes that can help my work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
As the first year level 3 paralegals, I believe that our managers try to structure our program, where they can , however in honesty there has been a lot of confusion and clarity throughout my time here as an apprentice about what needs to be done.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
I receive some support from my employer, but would be open to receive some more. It's very tough to seek out the desired support in an office that's majorly performance based. I feel that everyone is so busy all the time we can sometimes become a nuisance.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
In honesty the training provider are persistent is chasing us up for the work that we need to submit. They are confusing sometimes as to what it is we need to send off and prepare in order to progress the course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I feel that there is little to no correlation to the work we do in our day to day and our work provided to us by our training provider. Our course given by our training provider touches specifically at the legal aspects of the role. However our role is barely legal and more process based.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
None that I know of. Would 100% join one of there was one.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend The Co-op to a friend?
No
Why?
Because, I have worked in the office for over a year now, it really does seem that the CLS only cares about about performance and not about the staff that work hard day and night to progress there work. It's sad to see and a big change is needed.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Co-op?
