Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
There is a wide variety of tasks in this role, which is part of what is so great about it. Many of these include showcasing BA opportunities for students, whether this be at a careers stall or in front of a wider audience. Also, there is a lot of opportunity for working at BA events, such as awards shows.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
This programme provides a lot of enjoyment, since the events are always exciting and aren't repetitive. I really feel that I am keeping am difference as well. There is also a good mix of being professional and personal with the Team leader, which also brings enjoyment as it allows one to feel supported.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
In this role I have developed many new skills. One of these is the ability to confidentially and professionally speak in public, no matter the audience. It has also helped develop my ability to multitask, along with being proactive in situations. Finally, due to the nature of the company, it has helped me to anticipate individual needs and cater my approach to people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I would say it is well organised, there is a group chat and email chain where new opportunities are advertised and updates are regularly posted. It fits well around other obligations too. Meetings are well detailed and all questions/ queries are addressed in front of everyone. The initial training was well set out too, which allowed us to have a confident start in the role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I feel very supported in this role. This done through the active group chat and email chain where new opportunities are advertised and updates are regularly posted. Any questions that are had can be asked, and all of these are truthfully answered. The emails are very specific too, which makes me feel confident in the support that is given.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Like I said before, the support is pretty constant and detailed. Any issues or queues are well dealt with, and are always answered in a way that is helpful. Support is also easy to get at pretty much any time, which makes getting this qualification and lot more enjoyable, as it really feels like my leader wants me to do well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I would definitely say the things I'm learning have helped me in the experiences I have had in the role. For example with customer service training, there are ample opportunities to put this into place, which I really feel have helped with my performance of the role, since I have been able to reflect and improve.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are lots of opportunities for this. This was on a much higher scale before the pandemic, yet there have still been lots of opportunities for this to happen throughout Covid, which have helped keep everyone's morale high too. Social events happened a lot, along with many opportunities for company events and activities. Lots of charity opportunities too.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend British Airways to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have gained so much from my time here, and would love for those close to me to have the same experiences that I have had. It is a really exciting opportunity that I am really enjoying, which has equipped me with some many skills that I would not have if I was elsewhere.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
Honestly, just go for it. I was nervous before this for many reasons, such as thinking I wasn't suitable or that I wasn't experienced enough. I have flourished in the role to heights that I never thought were possible. Be honest and be yourself, it is such an amazing thing to do.
