My role in the salon is an apprentices ,I mainly wash hair ,clean and answer the phone. Since being in lockdown I have been doing online session with my teacher bev from paragon, she’s is an amazing teacher and always helps me out with stuff I need! I never feel rushed to do anything and she’s always helps me out if I’m stuck on something!

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes many skills, like cutting hair and different way to dry hair and different way to colour hair! Since working at the salon I have really built up my confidence a lot ,and learned to alway tell the time! My teacher has always helped me with work from home and knowing how to do it

At first I was really confused with how to address and do my work properly! But now I enjoy doing and learning new things with my teacher
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My boss support me a lot in my work and tries his best to guide me in the right way ,I always know I can talk to him whenever about anything that is bothering me
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My trainer provider helps me and supports me with anyone! I really have built up a relationship with my teacher ,she’s a very lovely and cheer person to speak with! I’m never worried to have to be on call with her or to speak to her!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Much better, my teacher always explain stuff in full detail which helps me understand eveything much better
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My boss always tries involving us in stuff and sometimes host social gathering for us to go to, due to be in lockdown we have really had any chance to get together

I don’t really have an advice to give to anyone other than it’s really good and u will not be let down by them
