Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am currently a secondment store manager at Harlington Co-op. I have to manage my store and my staff accordingly so there are no issues. It is very challenging as there are many staff to control and manage but I work hard and make sure everything is perfect. It is very interesting and enjoyable.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy this programme to a high extent. This is because I have learnt so much new information and facts that has been useful. For an example how to lead the team and look out for each other. It was very fun when we used to go to Central London for meetings.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have learnt many new things. Especially in my apprenticeship. As I do more tasks, the more knowledge I gain. There are many things I have learnt such as leadership, teamwork and many more. I have learnt how to be diverse between colleagues and customers and how to look out for eachother.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very structured and very organized. Especially when they send emails and keep in contact with us so we know what is happening when. Even thought
Covid-19 has created some obstacles, we worked very hard during/through lockdown on Microsoft teams which was very kind and thoughtful of the team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I recieve a lot of support. If I need help then I can ask for help which is a good process. It is very good that the employers reply very quickly. There are also other ways of contact such as emails and phone calls which is also a quick process.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I get a lot of help from my training providers. This is because they send me some tutors who come to my store and we can speak to each other about my work. We also go on calls virtually via Microsoft Teams and we discuss about new topics and objectives.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The five SMART criteria such as Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound have helped me a lot as a Store Manager as I need to manage the team and make sure everyone feels safe at work. I have learnt to improve my growth mindset, be more proactive, Learn to understand myself. and be persistent despite obstacles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
A few months ago, our area managers had organised a cricket match for all the store managers and a few other members to join to have some fun outside of work. We have also attended a charity event where we went to a school summer fete and provided them with food and drinks.
