Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
When carrying out my role as a British Airways Student Ambassador, I attend a range of events from schools to career fairs, informing and telling other students and young people what opportunities there are at BA. As well as sharing my personal experience of how I got into the business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme I am on very much. It is very well organised, and there are number of different events and activities in which we can take part in, all while being involved in the business. We get to experience new opportunities and what it is like to work for a globally known brand.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many skills since I joined the Inspire programme at BA. I am able to stand up in front of a crowd and talk confidently, something I did not have the confidence to do before. I have also obtained good communication skills, leadership skills and the skills to be able to work effectively in a team, with many others.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is structured very well. The team are in touch regularly with new updates and new opportunities every month of opportunities that we can get involved with. The programme also allows you to expand into the business in the future if you so wish to do so, where you are able to experience different parts to the company.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive lots of support regularly from my employer at British Airways. They are always willing to help with any queries we may have, or if we have any uncertainty's about an event that we may be attending. They are also always on hand to help with anything, all while being so professional.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
From my training provider, I am able to go to them if I need help with anything. I recently asked my trainer what I could do in order to improve the likes of my Linkedin Profile while being in a pandemic. They then put together an employability workshop with myself and my fellow student ambassadors on what we can do. As well as information about application processes and help with interview preparation.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Having regular workshops together, for example a recent employability workshop, enables me to know what I need to do when applying for a jobs and at interviews in my future career. It also helps me improve my skills to be able to go to events and take part in opportunities.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are a range of regular events that we can take part in. Especially involved with charity's. For comic relief 2021, our group of ambassadors came together to do a trek (walking/running or cycling) the distance between London Heathrow and Gatwick airport to raise money. There has also been times when we have had the opportunities to abseil down the Orbit in London Stratford.
