Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
At a student ambassador I regularly attend voluntary events, these include fundraising events for British Airways’ charity Flying Start. Other voluntary events include visits to schools to do careers fairs for young people and to give them more information about how they could start a career with British Airways and what we do.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
This programme has allowed me to gain so many new skills as well as meeting new like minded people who are also sharing this experience. Not only has this programme benefited me in terms of preparing me for future professional roles, but it has also helped me grow as a person.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
As a student ambassador, I have been able to develop as well as unearth new skills which have greatly benefitted me since. One of the most important skills that I have developed, is professionalism as you are often working among existing professionals and employees of the company, and you are a representative of the company.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The organisation and structure of the programme is perfect. The events that are available for you to assist at are clearly laid out on a regular basis to ensure you do not miss out. The way in which the events are run are also extremely organised which makes it very enjoyable.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As a student ambassador I have received lots of support throughout me role, especially from the work experience programme, where they are extremely supportive and friendly. They make the experience really enjoyable and they make you feel very comfortable, even in new environments. I feel that if I had any issues I would be able to go to them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The people around me are extremely supportive of the journey that I am on. They have played a big part in the qualifications that I am going on to achieve as they promote an open mindset and have been very supportive since I began my time with them as a company.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
As a result of being in such a positive environment this has enabled me to feel more comfortable, and because of this I am able to fulfil my role to its greatest extent and achieve what I am capable of because of the support that I am receiving from the company.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots of extracurricular activities such as social networking events since I have started my journey here. These social networking events have enabled me to develop and maintain professionalism and it has also helped me to gain more confidence by getting used to meeting new people and networking with them.
