Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves attending different events to raise money for charities, and visiting schools and sixth forms to make other students aware of the opportunities British Airways have to offer.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy this programme because I get to work with people who are passionate about the industry like myself. It also makes me realise how much of a broad sector the travel industry is, and how many opportunities British Airways has to offer.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my confidence and public speaking skills whilst being an ambassador because I have had to talk to new people, and in a large group environment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well organised because we are made aware of events in advance, whilst being asked what kind of events we are interested in. We are able to pick and choose events near us which makes it more suitable to our needs.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received support as this programme provides me with more experience and qualifications within the industry to help me in the future, and I am able to get involved with a variety of different workshops.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support when working towards my qualifications because I’m provided with excellent advice on how to progress within the organisation and the industry itself. With regular employability workshops being run.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think that the opportunities I am involved in helps me perform better because I am more knowledgeable about the industry and the opportunities it has to offer.

Why?
I would recommend British airways as they are an excellent company with many different opportunities to offer, with likeminded people who have a passion for travel. In addition, they treat their employees very well which makes me feel valued.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
I would advise anyone applying to British Airways to have a passion for the industry, and to be themselves within the interview stage as this is what will make them stand out from others .
