Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am currently working as a Inspire Student Ambassador for British Airways which consists of “Inspiring” the future students to become involved in the Aviation industry. This could consist of attending Careers events and representing the company giving my advice of how to be involved in such an iconic company as British Airways.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
My program is particularly enjoyable and has helped me to accelerate my passion for aviation. The programme of which I am a part of has been particularly good facing the current climate of Covid-19 and there has still been plenty of opportunities to inspire the future workers of the industry through online careers seminars. I love being a member of such a cohesive team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed a multitude of skills as being part of the Student Ambassador program especially from my intensive training which was undertaken in order to achieve this title. The biggest transferable skill which I have developed throughout this process is public speaking. This has helped me to become more confident when delivering speeches and attending events for British Airways.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well structured in my opinion. The team as well as my fellow Inspire Student Ambassadors are very well driven and this stems through to our performance at attending events. From my experience the programme is very well structured and the organisation of tasks have been impeccable. This has helped us to achieve results within our roles.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Again from my personal experience we receive lots of support from not only the cohort but also the company as a whole. British Airways are always helpful when we have questions and the environment is perfect when we are in any doubt. Being part of the team for a number of years now I have had so many positive experiences.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Currently studying for my A levels this summer British Airways are very supportive of our qualifications. The team is complied of people from a wide range of ages and from personal experience every employee at British Airways are very supportive of qualifications outside our roles within the company. Overall I would say British Airways are extremely diverse and from having such a large team lots of support is given.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Being part of the Inspire team has really helped me to perform better in my role. The intense nature of the training has helped me to really understand how vital key skills are to work in an industry such as aviation and these skills will help me to flourish when I progress through the company.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of extracurricular activities on offer at British Airways. Recently we took part in a fundraiser activity for Red Nose Day 2021 where we as a team attempted to run/cycle the distance from London to Glasgow as a team. At British Airways there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with events outside the job role.

There are so many opportunities and pathways to lead an individual down the right path of success. What’s more is British Airways is dedicated to developing an individuals skill set to help the build as an employee.
