Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My day-to day role includes basic admin duties for example replying to emails, organising meetings and inputting data. As well as this I have also supported with largescale projects including virtual events for Comic Relief and networked with other departments and stakeholders within my departments both IFCE and Community Investment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme as it has given me invaluable experience with networking with different colleagues and stakeholders as well as get a greater idea of day-to-day roles in a business environment and get involved in organising projecets. I also enjoy working in a team as well as working alongside the other apprenticeships.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
As part of my apprenticeship I am completing my Level 4 NVQ which includes various workshops and training sessions covering different subjects including business admin systems, facilities management, sustainability and culture and ethics. As well as this in my placements I have learnt to use different systems including booking browser and nomad.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is well organised as it includes a well followed process throughout. This includes an induction, training and support from our learning provider Seetec. We also have 1-to-1s with our placement managers and our learning provider to give us support with NVQ work. We also have team meetings and welfare calls with our apprentice team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer through not only the apprentice management team but also my placement team and our learning provider. The apprentice team support with all aspects of the scheme including our placement and NVQ work. We also have learning courses assigned to us on Ascend.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I have regular calls with my learning provider to support with assignments. This is via group workshops as well as 1-2-1 support on my work, NVQ evidence and placement experience. Support is always accessible via phone, email or skype and this enables us to get help and guidance for any part of the scheme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it has helped me to perform better in my role as it has given me a greater understanding of the information behind the different aspects of a business and how it runs. It has helped me to actively look for opportunities that will further help me with my CV.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are different activities for us to get involved with including schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh award. Our partnership with Comic Relief - Flying Start gives great opportunities for people to get involved with to fundraise. Events have included skydives, abseils, trolley dashes and virtual events are just some.
