Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Funeral arrangements, all admin surrounding funeral, dealing with bereaved families and helping them choose the best arrangement for their loved one. Ensuring all legal paperwork complete and with official bodies eg council/crematoria on time.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
enjoy the learning and interaction with my coach.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Learnt everything surrounding the funeralcare business which is relevant to my job.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
change of providers several times, interuption of COVID meant that it did not flow well at all
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
As much as I needed in theory. In practice, being one of the busiest branches and working alone with little support from FD meant that during busy periods there was no time for apprenticeship work and no way to take that time without it being detrimental to the clients and the running of the branch.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I knew I could always contact my coach if I was struggling with anything.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that the training provided was trustworthy, in as much it was guaranteed as up to date and correct. Training given in branch was often out of date and factually incorrect.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
community work is expected under normal circumstances (fundraisers, presence at local events etc)
