Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
During my time, I have also met friends for life which has been great. The social aspect of being on this programme has also been a big factor in my enjoyment of it.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
On a more granular level, my written skills have improved given the various reports and memos I have to write. My leadership skills have also excelled recently given my more lead role. I have developed my communication skills, both written and verbal during my time. On a personal level, my self confidence has also improved.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
Once on the classes and exams, the organisation and structure of the learning is second to none.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
The support whilst working can be improved at times and there is a culture of unrewarded overtime with very little "thank you" messages given. But support is always offered and your line manager is always a phone call away if assistance is needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Internally within my firm, I have been part of the social team as well as a group dedicated to keeping people positive through fun challenges.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Why?
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
You will have to work hard but if you come in to work everyday with a positive attitude, then it will be worthwhile. Working here is what you make of it.
