To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy working on different projects in a range of areas within the portfolio. This has enabled me to have a more diverse view of the portfolio and how they contribute to the business' strategic objective. I enjoy being able to see the end product of projects I've worked on being used in the business.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to deal with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the business. Furthermore, I have also developed my business awareness through working in a corporate environment. This has strengthened by communication, negotiation and influencing skills and enabled me to contribute to project success.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship programme is split into 5 placements, each of which are in a different area of the portfolio. This has enabled me to work on a variety of projects and understand the differences and similarities between how different projects are run while all contributing towards achieving one portfolio objective.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have a work manager, line manager and an apprentice manager, so plenty of support within my project, team and my apprenticeship. Furthermore I receive support from my learning provider. This means I have support in many different areas and do not have any trouble getting answers needed from the relevant people.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has been great in providing me with all the tools I need to succeed in my apprenticeship. He delivers engaging classroom sessions and always offers to provide feedback on any work given. This was especially helpful when studying for my exam, and I'm sure will be the same for my EPA
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Studying for the exam through classroom sessions and self learning enabled me to see why the day to day tasks I was doing helped contribute towards project success. It helps me understand what is expected of me when given tasks by project and or programme managers and carry them out to the best of my ability
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

When I was working in the office there were team events, charity events etc being held, however since working from home these obviously are no longer an option. Since working from home there have not been any events or activities for me to participate in, however, this cannot be helped.

Would you recommend British Airways to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend British Airways to a friend as they have treated me well throughout a very difficult time for the aviation industry. The programme is well run and is an excellent alternative to university for someone who would prefer to gain experience within the workplace in order to start their career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
Ensure you research British Airways and our vision before completing your application. Ensure that you agree with these and that this is reflected in your application and answers at the assessment center. Listen to instructions at the assessment centre and ensure you do not stand out for the wrong reasons. First impressions are often the most important.
