Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to day there are a variety of tasks that I may be involved in - this includes management of the engagement processes, drafting of analysis to go in reports / memos, joining calls and making notes of any actions, liasing with other teams for their analysis and any other work I am asked to help with.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is enjoyable because I am to able to work on many different skills and abilities while gaining a qualification. I feel as though I am getting so much helpful experience and opportunities. However, sometimes having to study while working full time can be stressful to manage my time effectively, but for the most part it is enjoyable.

There are a vast range of skills i have developed over the course of the apprenticeship such as:
- Communication - speaking to various people and needing to get thoughts across in a clear way
- Research - trying to find helpful and relevant info that help with work
- Team work - working with others to ensure the project is completed and work is shared among the members

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The Business Apprentice Programme is very well structured with a clear path. All dates for training/learning/exams are clearly set out in advance so I can plan accordingly. There is also a large amount of info available to support me and there are several team members designated to help me at each stage throughout the programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There are various levels of support from my employer.
- Manager - we have a specific manager for guidance and support that we can speak to whenever needed
- Buddy - upon joining there is someone in the year above who checks in and is there to ask any questions
- Apprenticeship coach - someone from the team is designated but the whole team is available for support
- Online resources - many resouces for help if needed

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our training provider, Kaplan, Is very supportive. They have a huge amount of resources to help us study and learn everything for the qualification. We are also able to email our specific tutor with questions whenever needed. There is also a general team that can be emailed or called at various convenient hours who are willing to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification helps to provide some background info and context to my daily role. Some of the exams are specific to my role and therefore are directly helpful, whereas the others help me to have a well rounded understanding of the industry and matters that I might come across in my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are some activities such as sport teams although I have not been involved. However, there have been networking activities within my specific team to get to know others as well as the wider team. There are also events for other apprentices in different teams which helps to expand my network of other school leavers in a similar position to me.

Why?
There has been a lot of opportunities for me and I find myself to be continually learning new things and developing my skill set. The amount of support also has greatly improved my experience as I feel valued and able to grow. Overall, it is a great chance to get practical experience while also gaining a professional qualification.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
- Do your research and try and speak to/network with other people to understand the different service lines and find out which one is right for you
- Be yourself and be enthusiastic at the assessment centre
- When joining, ask as many questions as possible to make sure you start off on the right track
