Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
1/5
Admin work mainly, as an Apprentice there isn't much work in actual tax within the first 6 months.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
I would say you have to be set on working in Tax and not see it as an opportunity. If you don't want to work in tax or aren't even sure don't apply. You have to be 100% it is for you.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
You learn important skills for the whole working world i.e. Email writing to external clients, how to conduct Excel sheets etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Quite well. There is support available however from home that is harder to explore.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
a fair bit.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
A lot.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
For tax, the ACA is not very helpful. I understand everyone needs it, but essentially the AC is for accountants not tax advisors.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Kind of.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
No
Why?
I don't believe it is a very well organized company. It has been fun but for a career, it is not worth while.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Just make sure this is 100% the career for you, you cant be 50/50 on the decision.
